Detailed Information

If you’ve lived with pain that hasn’t made sense, or that hasn’t responded the way you were told it should, I want you to know there is a path forward, and you’re not walking it alone.

I’ve spent much of my personal and professional life dedicated to understanding pain and what it can teach us. With one in four Australians over 45 living with chronic pain, it has touched many of us, either directly or through someone we love. My own motivation to be the best clinician I can be was strengthened by that personal connection and desire to help loved ones lost in the vortex of incapacitating symptoms.

My practice is built on both the science and the lived experience of the mindbody connection, specifically the interface between pain and suffering, and the insight and growth that can arise from working with pain rather than against it. Sessions are trauma-informed, involving a curious, gentle exploration of your story so far, to understand your own path out of it. With compassion and care, I’m passionate about guiding you back to yourself, helping you rediscover your agency and trust in your body, so you can move beyond pain and step into a full, meaningful life.

A little about my background:

I completed my physiotherapy degree in 2004 and found my way into pain through my interest in brain neuroscience while working as a neurological physiotherapist. Since 2012, I have dedicated my practice entirely to the treatment of persistent pain.

Through individual and group interventions, I have been treating complex chronic pain cases within a tertiary hospital chronic pain service and now as the Senior Pain Physiotherapist and Project and Clinical Lead of an interdisciplinary chronic pain service in a community health setting.

In 2018, I was awarded a titled membership with the Australian College of Physiotherapists in pain management, and I lecture on pain to the Doctor of Physiotherapy Master’s degree at the University of Melbourne.

I have a lifelong dedication to contemplative practices including yoga and insight meditation, and I am a certified senior mindfulness facilitator experienced in delivering the evidence-based Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) program.
